Email James McGovern practices in the area of civil litigation. He has extensive experience in
municipal litigation, civil rights and constitutional claims, as well as automobile
negligence matters. During the last 16 years as a civil litigation defense attorney,
James tried and won more than twenty-five jury trials while representing municipalities,
railroads, police officers, and other target defendants. He is licensed to practice in
Michigan’s state and federal courts and practiced in Chicago, Illinois for the first 11
years of his career. He earned his B.A. degree from The University of Michigan and his
J.D. degree from DePaul University College of Law.
